OUR WORK

Community Building

Activating Spaces for Connection and Civic Power

En2Action creates and activates spaces where community members can learn, connect, and directly influence the decisions that affect their lives. Our work is grounded in deep partnership and designed to foster civic engagement, wellness, and shared prosperity.

Shaping the Community, Together

Guided by resident insight, built by shared effort.

Public Space Activation: From Underutilized to Vibrant Hubs.

Underused public spaces are missed opportunities for connection and entrepreneurship. En2Action helps transform them into dynamic community environments—where small businesses can grow, residents can gather, and culture can shine.

At India Basin’s Food Pavilion, operated by En2Action in partnership with SF Recreation & Parks, local food entrepreneurs showcase their talents while neighbors come together for shared experiences. Through programming, vendor support, and community events, we ensure these public assets serve the people who live closest to them.

By activating public spaces in this way, we increase foot traffic, stimulate local economies, and strengthen community ties—creating places that feel welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive.

    Community-Led Projects and Advocacy

Our work begins and ends with community voice. Every initiative we lead—whether focused on environmental justice, transportation equity, or neighborhood planning—is shaped by resident input from conception to completion.

    ###

This commitment to authentic engagement extends to major policy initiatives. For two years, En2Action partnered with the Bay Area Air District to help residents of Bayview–Hunters Point participate in developing the Community Emissions Reduction Plan, ensuring that local experiences informed decisions on air quality and health.

En2action has also supported early engagement efforts for the Yosemite Slough Neighborhood Adaptation Plan (YSNAP)—a community-driven process to shape how the neighborhood prepares for sea-level rise and climate impacts. Through outreach and listening sessions, we’ve helped residents define their priorities for a shoreline plan that not only secures funding for flood protection but also creates opportunities for ecological restoration and community benefit.

By elevating local leadership and ensuring residents shape decisions that impact their daily lives, we continue to affirm the community’s right to build an environment that is equitable, safe, and inspiring.
